Learn to Row

Learn To Row sessions take place in the spring and early summer. Each session consists of 4 intensive or 8 classes, tentatively planned for Saturday and/or Sunday mornings or Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All programs are adult, sweep rowing programs. No prior experience is expected and all adults 18+ are welcome.

The first class of each session will be indoors on rowing machines (ergometers). The second class will also be indoors. The session will start out with a review of the ergs and then move to the tank room to practice rowing in a simulated environment. The remaining classes will be outdoors on the water, weather permitting.

The objectives of CRU's LTR program are to learn basic rowing form, technique, terminology, and safety. When on the water you will be in a boat with 7 other rowers where the coach will guide the team to row by pairs, fours, sixes, and (possibly) all eight.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email a week before the program begins with more specific information about what to expect on the first day. If you have any questions before then, please contact the Programs Coordinator.
