Learn to Row
Learn To Row sessions take place in the spring and early summer. Each session consists of four classes, planned for Saturday and/or Sunday mornings. All programs are adult, sweep rowing programs. No prior experience is expected and all adults 18+ are welcome.
The class will begin indoors on the first day. Students will learn to “erg” on rowing machines (ergometers) and then move to the indoor tank room to practice rowing in a simulated environment. The remaining classes will be outdoors on the water, weather permitting.
The objectives of CRU's LTR program are to learn basic rowing form, technique, terminology, and safety. When on the water you will be in a boat with seven other rowers where the coach will guide the team to row by pairs, fours, sixes, and (possibly) all eight.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email a week before the program begins with more specific information about what to expect on the first day. If you have any questions before then, please contact the Membership Chair.
