For the position of Coach, Club program, we are pleased to announce Ingrid Bard. Ingrid has rowed for four years at Drake University, three of those years were on the Varsity team. In her senior year, Ingrid served as co-captain of Drake University’s rowing team, responsible for training incoming freshmen. She has rowed around the country in several regattas in Florida, Indiana, California, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania, just to name a few and during her entire four years at Drake only missed three practices (hint: don’t be late to practice!) In May of every year, Drake would row at Dad Vails in Philadelphia and her Four placed third in the Grand Finals during her senior year.
For the position of Coach, Novice program, we are pleased to announce Jenn Gibbons. Jenn rowed at Michigan State University, is a US Rowing Level II Certified coach and currently rows as a member of Lincoln Park Boat Club. Jenn began coaching in 2005 as the Men's Novice Coach for Ignatius Chicago Crew. Since then, she has coached the Women's Novice and Men's Varsity team. Jenn enjoys running marathons, eating hot wings (not at the same time) and kicking cancer’s butt as the founder and coach of Recovery on Water (ROW), a rowing team for breast cancer survivors. She is thankful she can share the sport she loves with CRU, St. Ignatius and ROW and looks forward to welcoming CRU's novice rowers to the team.
