Rowing is an expensive sport that requires specialized equipment. While our membership dues generally cover fixed operation costs each season, they do not cover investment in equipment. In order to grow and remain competitive we need to invest in new boats, oars, launches, and supplies to maintain our fleet; and we can't do it alone. Your donation, in any amount, can help us achieve our goals of developing a diverse and inclusive rowing organization. Your donation may also be tax deductible. Chicago Rowing Union is a volunteer run organization. We are not-for-profit and tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
Chicago Rowing Union is currently looking for sponsors.
We are completely privately funded through membership dues, donations, and fundraising events, and have a strong Board of Directors with a long-term vision toward growth. Our mission is to inspire personal accomplishment, camaraderie, community, and a competitive landscape in a team atmosphere.
Inclusiveness lies at the heart of the Chicago Rowing Union. As part of this, we need to ensure that the club is accessible from a financial perspective. Unlike long-established clubs which have benefactors, our members fund the cost of equipment and coaching themselves. We are currently looking for sponsorship to help us provide financial assistance to rowers who cannot afford monthly dues and to update equipment as needed in order to keep us safe and competitive without relying so heavily on the burdensome fundraising efforts of our team members.
We offer some of the following benefits:
Your organization's logo on the CRU website and promotional materials at regattas and other events
Mentions during events
Your organization’s logo on team apparel, marketing materials, team banners
Promotion to our members and prospective members
Promotion via our social media channels
We are happy to offer sponsors a team t-shirt and a special invitation to attend a team practice on the coach’s launch boat.
If you have more questions about how you may be able to support us in our mission and how we can promote your organization, please contact the Programs Coordinator for more information.
